I decided to try using Adobe Aero to make a mock up of what using this art style could look like in a 3D Augmented Reality space. I think this has lots of potential for a Murukami style exhibition or possibly an app?
Reinterpret a classic
Rasen is an exhibit based on Junji’s classic story Uzumaki and is designed to make anyone who enters it to get a similar experience to the characters from the story. It’s story tells a tale about a town consumed by and obsessed with spirals so much so that it drives many of the residents insane. Here I have tried to design an experience that allows someone to step inside a room that simulates what it is like to encounter these feelings yourself. While it is not as intense as to send a person insane or anywhere close it allows a person to see a visual representation of what it would be like to be surrounded by the spiral.
